The Music Politics of Brooklyn
Gang Politics of Brooklyn
Okay, so the gang politics in Brooklyn. It's mostly GD’s versus everybody else, with them under the Cho collective and then bloods and crips under Woo. There are some Cho’s that are not GD, like the Feni Gz, who are Nine Trey Bloods. Made popular by the Trap Geek and Trap Lore Ross videos, and this one long post on the SubReddit Chiraqology, most of the info about Brooklyn comes out of these resources. Anyways, back to the subject at hand; apparently Woo and Cho were cool at one point, since they were umbrella groups of the same thing. But arguments started erupting over snitching and such, so they are not cool anymore. The obvious is true, Brooklyn is huge, a Burroughs with many sub - Burroughs. Canarsie is mostly Crip, Bedford - Stuyvesant is Blood. Ebbets - Field Apartments in Flatbush is home of the GD Blixys; Flatbush in general is a whole mix of different types of gangs. Marcy Houses (home of Jay Z) is most likely Blood. Langston Hughes Projects and the Brownsville Houses are Woo, while their direct rival the Hoodstarz are Cho, residing mostly in the Marcus Garvey Village. There have been many Rico Cases that have taken down prominent gangs in Brooklyn. The Nine Trey Bloods, G Stone Crips, 8 Trey Crips (not exactly Rico but not many are free), Insane Crips (E 21st Street in Flatbush), Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation Bloods (just got taken down), and the Bully Gang (drug laundering, seem to be blood, unclear if woo or cho) to name a few. Popular rappers like Pop Smoke rep 92nd Street in Canarsie, and Dusty Locane: 95th Street in Canarsie, Casanova: Lenox and Flatbush, originally from 21st and Church. Rowdy Rebel: East 93rd and Rutland Road (squished in between Brownsville, East Flatbush, Crown Heights, Weeksville, and Prospect Lefferts Gardens). Young M.A. (RedLyfe, not a Blood crew apparently according to a Rolling Stone article). Bobby Shmurda (East 96th and Church, or at least around there). CoachDaGhost, 22Gz, and Nick Blixy: Ebbets Field Apartments. Finally, hmmm what else, ah yes, the numerous blood sets of Brooklyn. A beginning guÃe is the Apes, Brims, and Nine Trey (923) Bloods. The Apes, or Gorillas, are a Blood Set in Brooklyn; specifically what Casanova reps on the 65th Building on Lenox and Flatbush. Then you have the Mac Balla Brims, or the Hats; Bizzy Banks is a Brim from East New York; he is not Woo or Cho, but rather EBK (everybodykiller) [against whoever is against him]. And then there is Nine Trey, like what 6IX9INE was affiliated with; they are Woo (6IX9INE throws up Woo in GUMMO video) and they messed with GS9 (as shown in the KOODA video). But that's it. Well really there is a lot more, but this was just a brief overview. See y’all in the next one, where I’ll either cover a current event or review a movie/music, who knows, stay tuned.Â
